The Office of Science Education oversees the curriculum supplements project in collaboration with the Institutes and Centers at NIH.
Request your free copy today. Our newest curriculum supplement for high school is a collaboration between NIH and EDC. These lessons present a new model for ethical inquiry in the biology classroom. Online teacher support materials and alignments with state education standards are in the works and will be posted soon on the Exploring Bioethics summary page.
Bioethics featured in NSTA Webinars
NIH partnered with the National Science Teachers Association to conduct two one-hour Webinars on bioethics in March and April. Both Webinars are now archived on the NSTA Learning Center Website. These online seminars highlight different aspects of the forthcoming Exploring Bioethics lessons.
Lessons field testing in early 2010
NIH and BSCS are field testing two new curricula in middle and high schools nationwide in early 2010. The high school lessons focus on evolution and medicine. The middle school module is on inquiry and the study of rare diseases.
